Leaders in Trenchless Methods in Windsor and Surrounding Areas

Pannunzio Drainage Inc has been a leader in trenchless technology since 1976. Many factors influence the choice of a trenchless technology method, including application, installation depth, shafts, drive length, pipe material type, pipe diameter, cost, etc. According to the diverse requirements of a project, we use different trenchless technology methods. From new installation to replacement and rehabilitation, whatever the project, our approach is less invasive, quick and cost-effective. Read below to know about the trenchless technology methods we use to resolve drainage problems in Windsor properties. Contact us today to discuss your drainage project and the appropriate trenchless methods for your system.

Auger Boring

A bore is made in the auger boring method, commonly from a 'drive pit,' employing a rotating cutting head. Augered material is then driven back to the drive pit by helically wound auger flights rotating in a steel casing. This technology may have limited steering capability.

Horizontal Directional Drilling

Horizontal directional drilling is a steerable way to install conduits, cables, and pipes employing a surfaced drilling rig. HDD is used for long distances like river crossings or highly developed areas. This popular technique is suitable for soft-ground situations only. A fluid-filled pilot bore is drilled without rotating the 'drill string,' followed by monitoring of the drill string and enlarging the pilot bore for the pipe installation and finally pulling back the pipe along the bored hole until properly situated.

Pipe Bursting

Pipe bursting is a trenchless technique for existing pipe replacement. It is common in urban areas as existing services shared in the same space under the surface become a problem. It involves bursting the current pipe and displacing it into the surrounding soil. The new pipe is pushed or pulled into the same or larger position. 'Pipe slitting' is a variation of this method wherein the pipe is broken by longitudinal slitting.

Relining

This trenchless method is a widely used structural renovation system that uses a lining installed into the current pipe. With the help of hot water or steam, the liner is pulled or blown in place. The liner is pressurized into place until it fits snuggly against the old pipe. This technique is less time-consuming and prevents lateral connections from being excavated and connected manually.
